I’ve always enjoyed a good cup of coffee, but you know what goes well with it? Rum. Really, any alcohol can blend well with coffee (except tequila), but I have a special place in my heart for rum.

Make a fresh cup of coffee using Jamaican Blue Mountain coffee Beans by any brewing method you like such as drip coffee maker, French press, or pour-over. The low-proof liqueur is made with Patrón Silver tequila that's blended with the essence of coffee. Handcrafted in Jalisco, Mexico, the spirit is dry, with flavors of fresh-roasted coffee and warm chocolate. The rum is sweeter than others on this list and what I like about it is that it works well in contrast with the slightly bitter coffee. On The Nose At that time of day, the two are served in separate cups, and they tend to sip the brandy while they enjoy their first hot coffee of the day. I know you’ve seen this decadent Dalgona coffee all over social media, right? Did you try it out and fall in love like the rest of us?Unlike tequila, which has a sweeter taste, mezcal is much stronger and almost smokey in flavor. I find that complements coffee perfectly! Find a large jug or measuring cup. Once you have it, whisk together room-temperature coffee, coffee-flavoured liqueur (we recommend Kahlua), and dark rum. Otherwise, you can even make your own coffee liqueur. Give it a little stir to ensure everything is mixed.

If you’re fixing yourself a White Russian or espresso martini, you’re going to need a coffee liqueur. While you may instinctively reach for Kahlúa, there are a wide variety of coffee liqueurs to also consider. On a higher end of the price spectrum, I like to go for some Zacapa No. 23, a well-aged rum that pairs perfectly with a strong shot of espresso or iced Cuban coffee. You can add a dash of sugar in it for a sweeter note and keep the ratio at 3:1. Welcome to a world of aromatic richness and velvety smoothness, where the bold essence of coffee meets the warm embrace of rum in a symphony of delightful concoctions.

SPICED RUM

Ron Colón Salvadoreñowas so charmed by El Salvador’s sugar cane and high-altitude coffee production that they mixed the two to create this overproof coffee rum. You might think that gives us plenty to shout about, but we don’t believe in fancy. For us it’s all about the graft because we believe everyone deserves a decent spirit. Liquor 43 is a popular choice, and I’ve even been to the distillery near Murcia in Spain, but any brandy will do.
